Keynote Speaking
Writer, Speaker, Social Entrepreneur on Girls’ Empowerment
Heidi has been honored to speak at HP, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), Noyce Scholars Program, Colorado Arts Education Association, National Charity League, and multiple women’s leadership forums and conferences. She is a frequent speaker on girls rising above gender stereotypes and forging identies from their experience in science, engineering and technology.
Her talks have inspired leaders, managers, young professionals, educators, and parents — not to mention girls — to believe in the beauty of their capabilities and next big step.
Mission
Born from my experience as a student and classroom teacher, my mission has been to make it safe for girls to have a voice, place of belonging, and the opportunity to lead while exploring science, technology and engineering — according to their values.
As a result, girls have come together to leverage STEAM and engineering design. They have learned, failed, made gains, felt set-backs, forged friendships, and improved life for others. Some call this humanitarian engineering. I call it Pretty Brainy.
